Hi I’m Vi (Vimukthi) a life long nature+wildlife enthusiast who move to USA from Sri Lanka and fell in love with how much the state of Texas had to offer for those who love nature. Growing up I used to explore swamps and streams in Sri Lanka looking for cool birds and catching fish (mostly dwarf Snakeheads)
During my university days I studied Aquaponics and had several Aquascaped fish tanks i kept dwarf Snakeheads as a hobby. later on when I moved to US I was mostly interested in seeing the beauty of United States of America, State of Texas in particular since Texas is the state I first landed and in my mind will always be my home state. Once I got my first car I traveled to over 38 Texas state parks before I decided to finally buy a Camera to see the wildlife up close. Initially When I was traveling across Texas I was mostly interested in kayaking and later on Kayaking + Fishing, I would wake up early in the morning to go try my luck with fishing but as time passed and work got busy I had to distance myself from fishing and kayaking. I still go kayaking every once in a while and I still go fishing once a while but wildlife photography has taken over my mind lately.
I try my best to make time for birding every free time I get and the part i enjoy the most when I’m birding is just looking at the subject with my naked eyes after taking the photo.
I created this website to share the beautiful moments I experienced while birding/Hiking and share tips and tricks about wildlife photography. I bought my first camera with several Lenses for wildlife photography not knowing anything about cameras in 09/2025. I’ve come a long way since then and take great photos to make myself happy and share what I was able to see with all of you. My end goal is to buy a few acres in East, West and South Texas and conserve for native wildlife and plants to thrive. Hopefully I’ll achieve that as soon as possible.
